Building Funding for Products Into Your Grant Application
We are here to support our charitable network partners in your grant applications for accessing products. Here’s an example from Riverside Advice about how our partnership can strengthen funding applications and reports.
We’re always happy to provide information about the savings unlocked by accessing products from us, and the value for money that your partnership with us means for your funders.

We understand that funding to run your vital support services remains a big concern for many, and we want to support wherever we can. As well as helping save money on supplies we signpost to new funding sources we hear about. Here are some current opportunities.
In Kind Direct funding
We have new funding! Thanks to funding from The Julia Rausing Trust we can enable 100 small organisations in our network (0-4 staff members) to access products from us of value c£400 free of charge to help people keep warm and well this winter. It’s quick and simple to apply to be involved. There’s no long form! Apply here by Thursday 11th December 2025 midday.
With support from Oxfordshire County Council we are currently supporting organisations right across Oxfordshire to access more products to alleviate financial pressures for households struggling with the costs of living. Please get in touch if you think your organisation could be eligible and would like to be involved.
Earlier this year, we supported 100 small organisations in our network through our Fresh Futures Fund. With funding Mazar’s Charitable Trust we were able to give account credits to enable these organisations to access even more essential products to support the wellbeing of young people and those who are not in education, employment or training.

The Giving Lottery
The Giving Lottery is free and easy for good causes to sign up to and a great way to raise regular unrestricted funds.
With 27 supporters, your cause could be raising over £1,000 per year, with minimal work on your part. The top-performing cause is on track to raise £9,000 this year. Your supporters also stand a chance of winning weekly cash prizes of up to £25,000, while supporting your cause from just £1 a week.

Ford Britain Trust
Ford Britain Trust supports registered charities, schools/PTA and non-profits to support the education and advancement of local communities.
They prioritise projects that focus on education, environment, children, people with disabilities, youth activities and projects that provide clear benefits to the local communities close to Ford’s UK locations. These locations include:
• Essex
• East London
• Bridgend
• South Wales
• Southampton
• Daventry
• Manchester
• Liverpool
Grant size: Small grants up to £250, large grants up to £3,000.
Deadlines to apply: Small grants round open 1st December 2025 to 28th February 2026. Large grants open until 31st January 2026.

Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund
The Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund provide grants to support the care and relief of those affected by learning disabilities. Small and large grants are available to support capital and revenue costs and can be used for both specific projects and general running/core costs.
Grant size: Small grants of £250 – £5,000, large grants over £9,000.
Deadlines to apply: Small grants rolling monthly. Large grants deadline 1st March 2026.

Help the Homeless Grants
Help the Homeless provides grants to small UK registered charities with an annual turnover of £500,000. The fund aims to support people experiencing homelessness to move off the streets and live healthy, independent lives.
Applications are only accepted for capital projects, such as equipment, furniture, or building costs (excluding IT equipment).
Please note that the fund does not support projects relating to offering shelter to people experiencing homelessness or offering any other forms of sustenance.
Grant size: Up to £5,000
Deadline to apply: Quarterly; next deadline is 15th December.

The Forrester Family Trust
The Forrester Family Trust provide small grants to support registered charities in England and Wales with an income of less than £5 million. The grants aim to improve the quality of life of individuals and families, supporting interventions in areas where people and communities are suffering multiple disadvantages, and target giving in the gaps between state provision and the commercial sector.
Grant size: Up to £10,000
Deadline to apply: Next application window 1st December – 31st December.

Parkinson’s UK Physical Activity Grants programme
Parkinson’s UK is offering up to £3,000 in grant funding for anyone with a connection to the Parkinson’s community. The Physical Activity Grants programme is open to anyone who delivers physical activity or exercise classes for people living with the condition and applications are open until the end of 2025.

Matthew Good Foundation: Grants for Good
The Matthew Good Foundation invites applications on behalf of local community groups, charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises across the UK that have a positive impact on communities, people or the environment and had an average income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months.
Grant size: £15,000.
Charities and projects are welcome to apply all year round, and your application will be considered in the next funding round. Funding is awarded every three months, in April, July, October and January, with an application deadline of the 15th of the month before. E.g., for the January round, applications will close on the 15th December.

Screwfix Foundation
The Screwfix Foundation offers grants to improve, repair and maintain homes and community facilities throughout the UK.
It prioritises projects that make a longer-term impact and will fund projects such as installation of new kitchens/bathrooms/sensory rooms, improving lighting, heating, or general painting or security needs.
Grant size: Up to £5,000.
Deadline to apply: Ongoing, quarterly meetings held in March, June, September and December.

The Arnold Clark Community Fund
Supporting UK registered charities, voluntary/community organisations and social enterprises located within 50 miles of an Arnold Clark branch. Applicants are only eligible if in one of the following categories:
- animal welfare (benefitting humans)
- arts and culture
- community development
- disability
- education
- recreation
- relief support
- mental health support
Grant size: No minimum or maximum

Your Station, Your Community Improvement Fund (South England – various locations)
Your Station, Your Community Improvement Fund (SE England – various locations)
Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) who operate rail services across a wide area of South East England have launched the Your Station, Your Community Improvement Fund, taking place in and around stations served by Great Northern, Southern of Thameslink on their network.
This fund will support causes of key importance to local communities on their network, and aims to build lasting social value under the following themes:
• Mental health
• Employability skills amongst marginalised groups
• Diversity and inclusion
• Environmental sustainability
• Improving station environments
Grant size: Up to £10,000 (contact first for larger grants of £10,001 to £50,000)

Community Surrey Foundation (Surrey)
The Community Foundation for Surrey (CFSurrey) is a philanthropic charity that connects local donors with causes that matter in Surrey. CFSurrey offers a range of funding programmes; all operate a two-stage process of a simple Expression of Interest form before being invited to submit a full application.
Grants are available to support a wide range of causes and activities for local charities, community groups and other members of the VCSE sector, but applications will not be accepted from the public sector or private companies.
Grant sizes: Varied but the average is £5,000
Deadline to apply: Their Main Grants Programme and Strategic Transformation Programme (focused on supporting local voluntary and community organisations to become more financially resilient) opens for new EOI on 17th November 2025.

Robert Clutterbuck Charitable Trust (Cheshire and Hertfordshire)
The Robert Clutterbuck Charitable Trust supports registered charities in England and Wales, ideally with an annual turnover of less than £500,000, with priority given to organisations in Cheshire and Hertfordshire.
The Trust usually makes grants for specific items and projects rather than running costs.
Their grants focus on supporting:
• Personnel within the Armed Forces and Ex-Servicemen and women
• Sport and Recreational facilities for young people
• The welfare, protection and preservation of domestic animal life
• Natural history and wildlife
• Hospices, churches, schools, health and social welfare charities
Please note that the Trustees will not normally consider appeals from charities within two years of a previous grant being approved.
Grant size: Between £1,000 to £3,000
Deadline to apply: 31st December 2025.

City Bridge Foundation (Greater London)
City Bridge Foundation’s Access to Justice Fund has reopened, supporting core costs and flexible funding for not-for-profit organisations across Greater London. The fund focuses on social welfare advice, social action, and systems change in London to ensure everyone can access their rights and find solutions to problems in the areas of:
• Housing
• Welfare benefits
• Debt
• Employment
• Immigration
Grant size:
• 3-year Development Grants: £75,000
• 5-year Transformation Grants: £200,000, £300,000 or £450,000

Somerset Community Fund
The Somerset Community Fund is for community organisations in Somerset supporting and strengthening the building blocks of health.
They fund community-led projects supporting education, economic inactivity, best start in life, and housing. The fund is open to all community organisations, regardless of research experience, and supports projects that review, explore, or trial initiatives benefiting local communities.
Grant size: £2,500

Micro Community Investment Fund (Northern Ireland)
The Micro Community Investment Fund will provide valuable investment for community initiatives making a different in towns and villages across Northern Ireland.
The fund will support both new and existing activities and projects that enhance the financial, physical and/or mental wellbeing of people in communities, with a particular focus on addressing the challenges people are facing around the cost of living.
Eligible applicants include smaller, grassroots organisations with an income of up to £40,000, with priority given to organisations with an income of up to £10,000.
Grant size: £2,000

London Marathon Foundation Active Spaces Fund – London Boroughs
This fund supports projects in London that improve spaces and facilities and help the least active children, young people and underserved groups and communities to lead active and healthy lives.
The fund will prioritise projects that enable the least active children, young people and underserved groups – those that take place in areas of greatest need, have a close connection to the community they support, or improve and activate a space, place or facility beyond the funding period.
Projects must take place in a London borough and support one or more of these audiences to be active:
• Children and young people
• People from ethnically diverse group
• People from lower socio-economic groups, women and girls
• People with disabilities
• People with long-term health conditions
• Older people (65+)
• The LGBTQ+ community
Grant size: £10,000 – £800,000
Deadline to apply: Two stage application – Expressions of Interest can be submitted any time and second stage applications reviewed four times a day.

Luton Community Trust Fund (Luton, Central Bedfordshire, North Herts District, Stevenage, St. Albans District or the Aylesbury Vale District)
The Luton Community Trust Fund provides small grants to local charities, non-profit organisations and community groups that are working to make their local area a better place.
Projects must benefit the people living in the following regions: Luton, Central Bedfordshire, North Herts District, Stevenage, St. Albans District or the Aylesbury Vale District.
Grant size: £250 to £10,000
Deadline to apply: Ongoing, regular grant meetings throughout the year.

CLA Charitable Trust – England and Wales
The CLA Charitable Trust is offering grants of up to £5,000 to UK registered charities, CICs and constituted charitable organisations supporting the most disadvantaged people in their communities, especially young people.
They prioritise supporting charitable organisations that access the benefits of the countryside to pursue the health and wellbeing of people and to provide opportunities for education about the countryside in England and Wales.

Welsh Church Fund
The Welsh Church Fund supports grants for educational, social, recreational and cultural purposes. The fund is no longer used just for church projects.
The following groups and organisations are eligible to apply:
- Church and religious groups
- Church parishes
- Community groups and charities
- Sports and recreation clubs
- Environment groups
- Individuals that have an identified and proven need of financial assistance
- Other deemed charitable causes by the cabinet member and the Section 151 officer.
The fund will not support general adult groups for recreational activities or allocate funds to community and town councils.
Deadline to apply: Applications can be submitted at any point throughout the year, with requests reviewed in Spring and early Autumn.

Tesco Stronger Starts
Tesco Stronger Starts give the opportunity for schools, groups supporting children and community organisations to access a grant of up to £1500 to help provide access to food and activities that help children thrive.
Every three months, three local good causes are selected to be part of the customer vote in Tesco stores. Customers can then choose which of the projects they’d like to support by voting them with a blue token.

Support for homeless charities
Help the Homeless is offering grants of up to £5,000 for capital projects with a focus on homelessness across the UK. Organisations must be registered charities with an annual income of less than £500,000.
The quarterly deadlines for applications for funding each year are: 15th December, 15th March, 15th of June and 15th September.
Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation
The Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation is offering funding of up to £6,000 to registered charities that aim to improve the wellbeing, welfare and education of children and adults in communities across the UK.
Applications are open to UK-registered charities whose purpose is to:
- Benefit children and adults, particularly those living in socially deprived areas, through education to develop core skills and support wellbeing and mental health.
- Benefit the wellbeing and welfare of children and adults by preventing or reducing poverty and homelessness in the community.
- Support the elderly and improve their wellbeing by reducing isolation, helping reduce the effects of Dementia and Alzheimer’s and support later life/ palliative care.
Deadline to apply: The Trustees meet at the beginning of March, June, September and December. Application deadline dates are the 1st of the month prior to each meeting.
The Edward Gostling Foundation
The Foundation accept applications for Capital Grants from charities and CIOs that have been registered with and regulated by a UK Charity Commission for at least 3 years, regardless of size.
The applications must be for major capital projects, costing at least £1M, that when delivered, will support their vision that “people living on a low income who have a disability or long-term illness should have as many as possible of the same choices, quality of life opportunities and aspirations as others more fortunate than themselves”.

The Clothworkers’ Foundation Open Grants Programme
The Clothworkers’ Foundation Open Grants Programme supports registered charities, not-for-profits and CICs with funding towards capital projects. They define capital projects as:
- Buildings: purchase, construction, renovation or refurbishment.
- Fittings, fixtures and equipment: this includes but is not limited to office equipment/ furniture, sports/ gym equipment, digital/ audio visual equipment, software and websites, garden equipment and specialist therapeutic (excluding medical) equipment. It does not include equipment for one-off use.
- Vehicles: This includes a minibus, car, caravan, people carrier, or 4X4. They are unlikely to fund the total cost of a new vehicle and do not provide grants towards vehicle leasing.
They fund small and large projects and grants will be determined based on several factors, e.g., the size of your organisation. For larger projects (£100,000+), they generally fund 10% or more of the balance to be raised. For smaller projects (with a balance of less than £10,000), they generally fund between 50% and 100% of the balance.

Youth Hostel Association – Breaks Programmes
The Youth Hostel Association’s (YHA) Breaks Programmes aim to reach young people and families with the most challenging lives and provide them with life-changing experiences.
YHA believes in the power of travel and adventure to transform a child’s view of the world and their potential to succeed in it, to provide respite and improve health, education and wellbeing.
Their programmes include help for charities and community groups who are seeking support for a residential stay with YHA. Enquiries can be made for groups of young people and groups of families. Support for school groups in the alternative provision sector of education, along with SEN schools, is also available.
Deadline to apply: No deadline.
BBC Children in Need Grants
BBC Children in Need are offering several funding programmes, such as the Core Grants Funding Stream and the Emergency Essentials grants, to UK-based organisations who support disadvantaged children and young people aged 18 or under.
BBC Children in Need will prioritise smaller, local organisations and will rarely offer funding to organisations with an income above £1 million. However, for UK-wide hospices and Housing Associations, there is no maximum income limit.
Applications for over £15,000 p/a will only be considered if you are a registered non-profit organisation.

The Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust
The Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust offers grants between £1,000 and £5,000 for UK registered charities supporting socially disadvantaged and disabled people in the United Kingdom.
Deadline to apply: No deadline.
Paul Hamlyn Foundation – Youth Fund
The Youth Fund supports organisations whose main purpose is working with and for young people (aged 14-25) who face complex transitions to adulthood. They usually make around 25 grants per year to organisations with an income below £30,000 or above £3.5 million.
Stagecoach Community Fund
Stagecoach supports a range of good causes, community projects and individual initiatives and have pledged to donate 0.5% of their pre-tax profits to charitable causes every year. Through their monthly Giving for Good fund they support smaller, local charities.
There is a simple application form to complete. All requests are reviewed by their Charity Committee on the first Wednesday of each month and they ask that applications are sent to them before the last Friday of each month.
Sport England – Movement Fund (England)
Sport England’s Movement Fund is offering grants of up to £15,000 (crowdfunding pledge or a grant) to sports clubs, charities, local authorities, schools, Community Benefit societies and not-for-profit companies.
This fund is to help get more people active by improving physical activity opportunities for the people and communities who need it the most.
Their focus is to support projects that match their goal of getting more people active, reducing the number of inactive people and tackling inequalities.
Deadline to apply: Ongoing.
Boost Small Grants Fund (Scotland)
Boost Small Grants Fund is open for local community organisations across Scotland supporting children and families affected by poverty.
Grants range from £500 to £3,000 to constituted groups and charities with an annual income of £50,000 or less. Unconstituted groups can apply for grants between £350 to £1,500.
Deadline to apply: Ongoing until funds are allocated.
Noel Sweeney Foundation (West Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire)
The Noel Sweeney Foundation are a group of four companies involved in the construction of housing, with offices in Chasetown, Droitwich and Shrewsbury.
They support grassroots organisations that focus on:
- Children and young people
- Those who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness
- Those who are disadvantaged or disabled. Disadvantaged includes people living in poverty or experiencing disadvantage due to the area in which they live, victims of abuse, those who are bereaved and those who are in or are leaving the care system.
Organisations eligible to apply include registered charities, social enterprises, CICs, constituted community groups and constituted voluntary groups.
Deadlines to apply: 31st January and 30th April, 31st July, 31st October
Leek Building Society Charitable Foundation (Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire)
The Leek Building Society Charitable Foundation supports local schemes and good causes across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire. The Foundation’s primary purpose is to provide grants and donations that will have a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged or vulnerable people in these communities.
Organisations eligible to apply include charities and community organisations, and will be prioritised if they are working towards:
- The prevention of relief of poverty
- The provision of welfare advice
- The advancement of community facilities including the development of green spaces
- The provision of healthy food to vulnerable and disadvantaged people
- The development of digital inclusion
- The support of local people attempting to return to employment
Applicants can apply for grants of up to £5,000.
Deadline to apply: The Trustees usually meet quarterly in January, April, July and October and will assess applications within three months.
The Henry Smith Charity – County Grants (Kent)
The County Grants Programme supports small not-for-profit organisations and charities working with disadvantaged people and communities in selected counties with which The Henry Smith Charity has a historic association (Kent).
Organisations with an income of up to £250,000, or up to £1 million if offering country-wide activities, are eligible to apply.
The grants available are between £500 and £20,000 over one to three years. £10,000 is the maximum per year and most grants are between one and two years.
Deadline to apply: Ongoing.
Kent Community Foundation – Grants for Micro Groups (Kent and Medway)
Kent Community Foundation are offering grants of up to £2,000 to charities and not-for-profit organisations with an annual income under £75,000.
Applications will be accepted from organisations working on one of the Foundation’s five priority areas:
- Children, young people and families
- Vulnerable adults
- Elderly and isolated
- Employability, skills and enterprise
- Environment
Deadline to apply: Ongoing.
National Lottery Awards (England)
Small voluntary and community organisations can apply for funding from £300 to £20,000 for up to two years to deliver a new or existing activity, or to support your organisation to change and adapt to new and future challenges.
They fund projects that will do at least one of the following:
- Bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities.
- Improve the places and spaces that matter to communities.
- Help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage.
- Support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.
Deadline to apply: Ongoing. Apply at least 16 weeks before you want to start the activities or spend any of the funding.
Social Investment Business – Cost of Living Fund (England)
The Cost of Living Fund provides grant funding alongside Recovery Loan Fund loans to eligible charities and social enterprises that are supporting people in the 30% most deprived areas of England and delivering products and services to people impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.
The blend of Cost-of-Living grant will range from £10,000 to £250,000 in size and will range from 20% to 50% of the value of the Recovery Loan Fund.
The Recovery Loan Fund provides loans of £150,000 and £1,500,000.

National Lottery – Cost-of-Living Support Scotland
Grants from £10,001 to £75,000 are available for projects in Scotland to help support individuals, families and communities currently experiencing hardship as a result of the cost-of-living increases. The grants are aimed to fund activity that means people:
- Have more resilience and are more able to identify ways to deal with the impact of increase cost of living in their lives
- Are able to shape activity in their community to address the increased cost-of-living
The National Lottery are keen to see applications from smaller voluntary and community organisations who are working with those most vulnerable and disproportionately affected by the increased cost of living.
Deadline to apply: No deadline.
Robertson Trust – Wee Grants (Scotland)
Scottish constituted community groups and charities supporting people affected by poverty and/ or trauma can apply for funding of up to £2,000, for one year only.
Priority themes are financial security, emotional wellbeing and relationships and pathways to education or work.
Decisions are made within 8 weeks.
Deadline to apply: Apply at any time.
SGN Safe and Warm Scheme (Scotland and the South of England)
The Centre for Sustainable Energy is working with SGN to help create a network of community organisations who can provide much needed support for people struggling with the current cost of living crisis and energy price cap increases. The scheme aims to support people in high vulnerability locations who are in need of help to stay safe and warm over the winter period.
Grants between £10,000 and £25,000 will be available for small grassroots organisations that meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Have experience in working with hard to reach and seldom heard groups.
- Are embedded in their local area and able to connect with individuals who may not otherwise access support.
- Are keen to join a network of similar organisations to share learning and best practice.
- Are legally incorporated.
- Have robust administrative and management systems, including being able to record customer interactions, provide summary data for reporting, and be in a position to share detailed records for audit at the end of the funding period.

The Axis Foundation (London, South of England, Midlands and North West)
The Axis Foundation supports small, local and impactful causes that help improve lives for individuals experiencing disadvantage and people with disability up to £15,000. They offer help where it is most needed, where they can bring positive change.

National Lottery for People & Places projects (Wales)
People and Places funding from £10,001 to £100,000 for projects in Wales where people and communities are working together and using their strengths to make positive impacts on the things that matter to them the most, to support communities to adapt, recover and thrive.
The grants aim to:
- Support people, communities and organisations that are facing increased demands and challenges as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis.
- Support people, communities and organisations with the direct and indirect impact of the cost-of-living crisis.
- Support organisations experiencing current cash flow problems as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis
