The Renewal Trust

Feel Good

The Renewal Trust is a Nottingham-based charity in our network nurturing happier, healthier, and more connected local communities. Their Feel Good programme offers free or low-cost activities year-round – from weekly Tuesday Socials and monthly Chatty Cake Cafés to play sessions and holiday clubs for children, with resources like Lego from In Kind Direct.

The Renewal Trust was one of the local charities involved in our new national research report with Children North East – A Clean Start in Life: Children and Young People’s Perspectives on Hygiene Poverty. Community Lead Nic Williams joined us at our Parliamentary event to present the findings to MPs, highlighting the ‘hidden poverty’ affecting working families in Nottingham struggling to make ends meet.

Feel Good community support packs are distributed to families in need, and are filled with essentials such as toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo, laundry detergent, and household cleaning products. Packs are also given to refugees and asylum seekers who aren’t eligible to work in the UK and don’t receive mainstream benefits such as Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance.

Nic Williams shared:

“The Renewal Trust’s activities and community support packs provide light-touch entry points for local people in need, so the charity can build a relationship with individuals, understand their specific needs, and provide tailored support.”
